Red and white flowering plants perfect for long flowering gifts! Roses, Mandervilla and Alstroemeria around our fountain enjoying the sunshine. Christmas Gifts all wrapped up!

Alstroemeria

With an explosion of colours Alstroemeria Princess Lilies are a perfect addition for the garden or terrace, flowering for up to 9 months of the year.

Alstroemeria Princess Lilies' have thick leaves and compact flowers on each stem. Modest at first, until the flowers start to bloom. The world of pure beauty that comes from within, is a sheer triumph.

Alstroemeria Princess Lilies' require very little maintenance and flourish all summer long. They are heat tolerant, attract pollinators and can even survive a soft winter without too much frost.

GRAFTED CACTI ASSORTMENT

These cacti make a great addition to any desk or home environment to add a little colour! They are albino cacti that can't supply themselves with nutrients due to the lack of chloroplasts so have been grafted onto another cacti to supply them with all that they need to grow.

They are best suited to indoor, well lit positions but away from direct sun to avoid burn. Fertilize with a weak dose once in spring and summer and water when soil is dry.

Indoor Gift Ideas: Zanzibar Gem and Peperomia Piccola 'Banda' in Tins

The Zanzibar Gem is the perfect gift for the forgetful waterer, as they require very little water. They also tolerate a range of light conditions including low light.

This Peperomia has intricate almost-red veins on its green leaves, therefore a very fitting plant for a Christmas gift. Position in a bright spot indoors away from direct sunlight, watering when the soil has dried out slightly.

Thai Super Chili
In a lovely ceramic planter

Summer is the perfect time to get in your Chilli seedlings. Once the fruit starts to set there is nothing better than seeing splashes of bright red, orange, yellow and green dotted throughout the vegie patch. There are so many great summer salads and stir fries to use them in… what are you waiting for?

Chillies heat to grow well, so in Melbourne they are planted in spring and harvested during late summer and into autumn.Cultivate the soil beforehand using plenty of compost, well-rotted manure and add some dolomite lime for magnesium and calcium.

Plant in a sunny spot with good air circulation, as they are prone to fungal problems, and avoid planting where tomatoes and eggplants have grown in the previous three years.

Although they love the heat, it is worth shielding them on days of extreme temperatures to prevent flower loss.

Harvest chillies regularly to increase vigour and productivity.

The Thai Super chilli  grows to 50cm high  x 50cm wide.
Be warned the fruit can be extremely hot and can cause skin ad eye irritants.
