Description
Botanical Name:
LITTLE NUGGET
ACACIA
DESCRIPTION: A dwarf Australian native shrub with a naturally ompact habit that grows to approximately 2M high and 2M wide. In late winter and early spring clusters of yellow flowers appear, closely followed by bright golden new growth.
POSITION: Suitable for a wide range of conditions and most soil types, Little Nugget will happily grow in full sun to dappled shade and will also stand heavy frost and slight coastal exposure.
CARE: Once established, Little Nugget has a low water requirement and
little care is needed. However, occasional pruning and feeding will
promote new flushes of golden foliage through the warmer months.
USES: Little Nugget is a great garden plant which can be incorporated into many different landscapes. Looks good as a specimen against a backdrop or in mass plantings. With regular pruning it will form a dense bush making it suitable for more formal purposes such as borders and hedging.
PLANTING: Cultivate soil before planting. Dig hole twice the width of the container. Remove plant from container and place in the hole so that the soil level of the plant is the same as the surrounding ground. Fill hole firmly and water in well even if the soil is moist.
