Description
Aquilegia 'Songbird Blue' 140 mm
During trials at Sellicks Beach, these blue Aquilegia were the most compact varieties and produced interesting colour combinations of bi-colour flowers.
POSITION: Plant in partial shade, providing protection from the hottest sun.
Aquilegia prefer soil rich in organic matter and with good drainage.
FLOWERING: Through spring elegant bi-coloured flowers are produced on long slender stems.
USE: The neat mounding habit makes them ideal to be planted in groups underneath trees, in rockeries, along borders or in pots. They make great early spring colour for cottage gardens and their elegant foliage and flowers will soften garden beds.
CARE: Remove old flowers to encourage fresh new ones to continue, giving you a longer flowering period. Trim back the foliage in autumn and apply an organic fertiliser each season.
