Mint Menthol
Mentha arvensis piperascens 'menthol'
A common plant with a fresh menthol flavour. The menthol has an overtone of mint making it a great tea herb for helping symptoms of colds and flu.
Finely chop leaves and use them in sauces and drizzles for desserts, steep whole leaves in boiling water to create a refreshing tea. Place a handful of menthol mint in some boiling water and let it sit for a few minutes. Then put a towel over your head and inhale the warm vapours to help clear nasal congestion. Mix with lime or lemon mint to make a refreshing tea that will give temporary relief from indigestion and other digestive problems.
Mints require open soil with summer moisture. Given these conditions they can run away and should be planted in large gardens on their own or in pots.
