Pencil Red is my go to. Of all the Lily pillies it is the least maintenance. It has been selected for its upright habit, and contrasting tipped new growth of rich red foliage which turns to a deep green once mature. During Spring to Summer produces dainty cream flowers, attracting birds & beneficial insects. Pencil Red has a variety of uses for narrow hedging or screening.Full sun or dappled shade. Will tolerate short periods of dry or frost once established.  So important that it is Psyllid resilient so no need for spraying;)Height: 2.5m - 4m  Width: 1 - 1.5m

Flowering pink and yellow bells in winter and early spring.Trixibelle Correa is a strong performer, vigorous grower resulting in excellent weed suppression. Great as a mass planting ground cover or as a winter flowering feature plant for gardens. Low water requirements once established; prune once a year to maintain compact habit or twice a year for a really tidy appearance.

A compact and eye catching strawflower with ruby red buds which open to starry white straw like flowers held above lovely silver foliage. The pretty straw flowers open to white and can be dried for flower arranging  Responds to regular watering but will not tolerate wet feet or constantly wet foliage. A light prune after flowering will keep it tight an silver. Plant in full sun in well drained soils. The more sun the more flowers. Foliage is attractive all year with maximum growth 40x 40cm.
I know it's to early to think about Christmas but I couldn't help but share my wreath with the dried strawflowers.

Blueberry - Sunshine Blue 

Our Blueberries are already starting to produce flowers in preparation for fruiting in the warner months ahead. A evergreen shrub that grows up to 1.5m bearing mid-sized fruit.. This semi-dwarf, versatile semi-deciduous blueberry features showy hot pink flowers that fade to white in spring, yielding large crops of delicious berries. This variety is self-fertile so another plant nearby is not required, making it perfect for smaller gardens. Blueberry Sunshine Blue is frost tolerant and will reliably produce fruit  making it well suited to all parts of Australia.
 Blueberries require constant moisture for maximum productivity. They are actually quite drought tolerant, though in dry situations they will produce less and grow more slowly.

 They love a full sun position with some shade protection in the afternoons.

EXPERT TIP -  Ideal for growing in pots. As it needs an acidic soil, use an Azalea and Camellia fertiliser when feeding to keep the soil at the right pH. Use a good quality compost like Pure Magic if planting in ground.
