Description
A dramatic Australian plant that is clump forming with large strappy leaves.
Produces spectacular deep red flower spikes that can reach up to 5 metres in height in spring and summer. Ideal for use as a specimen plant or can be mass planted in drifts. Attracts birds, bees and butterflies when in flower.
Plant in a sunny position, in well drained, humus-rich soil. Foliage is frost tolerant, however flower heads are frost tender. Plants are drought tolerant once established and pretty low maintenance. Old foliage and spent flower spikes can be removed to keep plants looking tidy.
