CITRUS GEMS® Little Ruby™
Citrus australasica
Little Ruby is the smallest of the Citrus Gems Family. A compact growing shrub she is well suited to tub planting. Her chubby finger limes are dark green in colour. Little Ruby's dainty citrus pearls, are rosy red when the fruit is ripe. The finger limes appear in the autumn, with an occasional guest appearance through other times of the year.
Little Ruby performs best in full sun in a warm protected location.
Use the citrus pearls as a garnish for seafood and shellfish. Fill a glass with soda and squeeze in the citrus pearls. The fruit can be used whole or sliced for tangy marmalades and pickles.
