Description
Isopogon cuneatus 140 mm
Isopogon cuneatus Coneflower
Australian native plants are renowned for their hardiness, once established, and can provide a brilliant display whilst many exotic plants are out of season. Attracting colourful seed and nectar-loving birds, various insects to assist in pollination and perhaps even a lizard or skink searching for a sheltered resting place, these plants are a welcome asset to any garden.
FEATURES: A hardy and versatile small evergreen shrub with semi-erect branches and narrow bluish-green to bright green foliage. Masses of rose-pink to purple cone-shaped flowers are borne throughout Winter and Spring.
CONDITIONS: Prefers a well-drained soil in a sunny to partly shaded position. Tolerant of moderate frost once established.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Apply a layer of mulch around the base when planting to reduce weed competition and retain soil moisture. Avoid waterlogged conditions. Can be lightly pruned.
PLANTING IDEAS AND USES:
- Ideal planted as informal hedge or screen
- Prolific and striking floral display
