Mother-in-law Tongue (Sansevieria trifasciata)

Sansevieria trifasciata

c.v.Whitney

Whitney is a newly released form of Sansevieria trifasciata that is known for its distinct edge markings. It is able to survive well under low light conditions, making it ideal for indoor pots and gardens. Whitney is a slow-growing plant, but can reach heights of 35cm to 50cm depending on light levels.

When caring for this plant, it's important to water it well if kept in pots, but the soil should be allowed to almost dry out between waterings. The plant should be kept in a bright, well-lit area or provided with artificial light. Fertiliser should only be used if you want the plant to grow, as lack of fertiliser will keep the plant shorter and more compact. The ideal temperature range for this plant is between 15 and 20 degrees celsius, and it should be kept on the dry side in the winter. Dead or yellowed leaves can be removed for cosmetic reasons.
