Colour and Fragrance Filled with Inspiration! - Carolyn
Attractive fast growing variegated plant with tall upright growth habit forming stems to 80cm tall if in larger pots, indoors only, not suited for smaller terrariums due to size. Water well if kept in pots but sparingly in terrariums; potting mix must be allowed to almost dry between waterings. Keep in some direct sunlight or provide artificial light. Avoid heaters and draughty positions. Fertiliser should be only used if you would like the plant to grow. Lack of fertiliser will keep plants shorter and more compact. Temperatures above 20 deg C will speed up growth, between 10 and 20 deg C growth will be extremely slow and plants can be pruned to keep compact. This Calathea is hardy but will not survive outdoors in cold climates. Keep on the drier side in winter.

A large attractive plant with deep green leaves and red stems that are excellent for desserts. Pair your rhubarb with sweet delicious strawberries. We have plenty of different varieties of strawberries, here are just a few:
Rhubarb is an easy to grow clumping shrub will grow in most parts of the garden. It prefers rich soil and regular moisture. Do not let it dry out during summer. Make sure to grab some tomato vegie dust to stop those pesky caterpillars eating the leaves.
Harvest as needed and give regular applications of Maxicrop seaweed fertiliser to keep the plant healthy.
The stems of the rhubarb should be used as the leaves are toxic if eaten. Chop the stems and place in a pot with a centimetre of water. Bring to the boil, then simmer, stirring constantly until the stems lose their shape and become a soft mash. Sugar, stevia or honey, maple syrup can be added as needed. The stewed rhubarb can be eaten hot or cold with ice cream or mixed into a tart, pie or crumble.
