Cymbidium Orchids
GREAT GIFT IDEA
Cymbidium Orchids have arrived! We have a range of colours with most of them ready to burst into flower. They make a great gift for some indoor colour especially for the winter. Cymbidium Orchids can be positioned indoors or outdoors, keep in bright indirect light or light morning sun. Check weekly for watering, water only when dry and pot feels light. Never leave orchids sitting in water. Feed with Flourish Orchid Bloomer to maximise flowering.

Once flowers have finished prune off spike to the base of the stem. When not in flower, the best position is in shade during summer for example under a tree, and in morning sun once temperatures are milder.

Colour of Gratitude
Plant Poppy Seeds on Anzac Day and they will be in full display for Rememberance Day

NATIVE BEAUTIES

This combination is great for a tough spot. At its best in moist, well drained soil but tolerates a coastal/ poolside position or dry spells.

CORREA 'DUSKY BELLS'

An old favourite dense mounding shrub with profuse flowering from autumn through winter and on to spring. Great shrubbery plant that is a fantastic small bird attractor. Prune straight after flowering to encourage new and more dense growth, and feed with a good native fertiliser in spring. The leaves have a pleasing citrus smell when crushed. Will take full sun to shade.

Grows 1x1.2m.

DIANELLA 'CHERRY RED'

Cherry Red has clusters of  blue flowers late spring and summer followed by small blue fruit which any Satin Bowerbird would crave. It’s handsome strappy foliage with cherry red leaf base reaches about 75cm high, forming a clump the same width.

It’s a multi-purpose plant, eye-catching in containers or planted as borders along driveways or path edges, and mass planted in large beds for strong simple effect under trees.

GREVILLEA 'MOUNT TAMBORITHA'

A wonderful ground cover with dense foliage with abundant pink and lemon spider type flowers in winter to spring. It has close set, small, mid green leaves, giving a very attractive appearance even when not in flower. Great for keeping the weeds out as it can grow up to 1.5m wide and 0.5m high. Best in the sun where it will produce more flowers.

30% OFF FIDDLE LEAF FIGS

Native to West Africa where it grows in lowland rainforest. An extremely popular ornamental houseplant for its attractive cabbage-type glossy leaves. This plant is low maintenance and prefers a location in the house with indirect light. Do not over water, and feed with a slow release fertilizer during the warmer months.

Broad Bean (vicia faba)

Broad beans are great to grow in autumn and winter. Mature plants are frost hardy too. Sow them from late summer through autumn and winter. The beans take 3 months to mature, so you’ll normally have your broad bean eating frenzy in spring. Plant them in blocks so the plants support each other, and you may need to tie string around them to keep them upright (especially in the case of the taller varieties). Broad beans are easy when planted from seed. They are large seeds, so they are easy to handle (great for kids!) and you get loads from a pack. Plant the seeds 5cm deep and water them in well. You won’t need to water them again until you see their heads pop up (unless it’s abnormally hot or windy.)

Broad beans are not hungry crops, so you only need to lightly manure the soil. Sprinkle around some dolomite or garden lime and fork through the soil. Pinching out the tips after the first flowers appear will encourage the pods to set.

Height 1m x Width 50cm
