Winter Blooms
As we winter brings the frosty mornings and dull days adding warm colours to the garden lifts our spirits.
Volunteer Camellia
Is it PINK or Red??

The answer is, both. Camellia ‘Volunteer’ starts out red and ages to a soft pink. Each petal has a distinctive white edge and it’s flower is Peony like in structure. Contrasting dark green leaves make it stunning as a screen for the shade or a specimen in a pot at the front door. Perfect for cutting and putting in a vase or floating in a water
bowl.
Camellia Volunteer will grow into a tall shrub or a small tree. At maturity it reaches two metres with a spread of 1.5 metres.

Hellebore 'Sophie’s Delight'(Winter Rose)

For lovers of the beautiful winter-flowering Hellebore, 'Sophie’s Delight’ cannot fail to impress. Proudly held well above its handsome foliage, predominantly white blooms are deliciously edged and backed with deep mulberry - a colour combination that is both simple and elegant. 'Sophie’s Delight' is quite happy indoors for up to three weeks, after which it will be a valuable evergreen addition to a semi-shaded border or pot

Chamaedorea elegans in Jia Cover Pot

Commonly known as a Parlour palm, this species is one of the smallest of all palm trees. Chamaedorea elegans is a great indoor plant, growing bushier and faster in a bright room but also tolerates lower light conditions. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between watering. Parlour palms are also non-toxic to pets. Looking great in this new Jia cover pot, perfect size for a desk or small table.

INDOOR
UMBRELLA TREE - SCHEFFLERA 'AMATE' AND SACK POT 'LITE IVORY'

A beautiful indoor plant with oval shaped follage arranged into the shape of an umberella. This plant is a great compliment to any indoor environment, bringing a tropical feel right into the home or office. The bright green foliage is well complimented by a white coloured pot such as the white sack pot as it brings out the glossy leaves as well as their bright green colour.

The umberella tree prefers well drained soil which is to be dried out between waterings. Liquid feed during the warmer months. Filtered, indirect light is also ideal for the best results. Umberella plants can be cut back to maintain a smaller or more bushy apperence though will grow to around 15m  if allowed to do so in a larger pot.

Beetroot Bulls Blood (Beta vulgaris crassa )
An heirloom salad plant from the 1840s with attractive burgandy foliage that makes a focal point in the garden, a colourful and tasty addition to salads and has a sweet and flavourful root.

The leaves go well with most greens like chard, endive, mizuna, mustard greens, lettuce rocket. The root is best baked and served on its own as a salad or with other baking vegetables like potato, pumpkin, carrot and celeriac.

All parts of the plant are edible and the more it is picked the more it will produce. The root and foliage are high in nutrients and for maximum health benefits do not over cook. Harvest the root when the crown is about 5cm across

Prefers moist but well drained soil in a part to full sun position.
Height 60cm x Width 40cm
