Lagerstroemia 'Tonto'
The most compact of the Crepe Myrtles perfect for courtyards or large pots. A large shrub to small tree it is tolerant of a wide range of site conditions. Flowers are bright fuchsia-pink to red coloured flowers borne  mid-summer to early autumn. New growth is  bronzy  then leaves are dark green turning bright reddish-maroon in autumn. 
Best in FULL SUN- Good to moderate drought and heat tolerance.
H 3 x  W 3 metres.

Gaura 'Elite Pink'
With a constant display of little bright flowers on long stems and its compact growth habit Elite Pink Gaura is sure to impress from summer until late autumn. Excellent backdrop for perennial beds and superb for filling spaces in sunny shrubberies. Also great in a pot to watch the flowers dance in the breeze.

EXPERT TIP -Cut back hard after flowering to maintain bushy growth. Mulch well and keep moist in very dry weather. Fertilise seasonally with an organic fertiliser.

Chrysocephalum 'Yellow Mat'
Magnificent yellow carpet of flowers and grey/green foliage for a sunny spot or as a border to a large old style perennial garden bed. Excellent weed suppressant.
Plant in full sun position with good drainage. Fertilise and occasional water in heat of summer. Light prune in mid spring.
 

Indoor Combo of the Week!

Hoya 'Lisa' in Strawberry Planter
A stunning variegated form of this popular native species found in WA and NT. Hardy, fast growing and very easily flowered. Clean white flowers up to 1.5 cm across in bunches of 10 to 15, this australis has tight compact foliage and is well suited to arid environments.
Tolerant of most temperatures but must be kept dry and protected in colder climates.
Keep drier in winter in colder climates and moist in warmer months. In tropical climates reduce watering in summer to promote more flowers.

Martin's Edible Pick of the Week

Kang Kong (water spinach)
This classic leafy Asian green that has an aquatic or semi-aquatic habit. It is a fast growing vegetable and is perennial in tropical regions and treated as an annual in cooler climates.

This versatile green partners well with all Asian flavours like laksa leaf, corainder, ginger, garlic and chilli

Generally used in stir fries but can be steamed and eaten as any other leafy green. Healthy vegetable that is easy to cook and prepare but must be eaten fresh. All parts of the plant are edible.

Plant in a sunny position with ample water. Harvest young leaves regularly and use straight away. The more you harvest the better it produces. Fertilise with a maxicrop seaweed fertiliser  regularly.
