This distinctive Camellia has brilliant, glowing pink blooms, up to 12cm across and bright yellow stamens, this semi-double variety will brighten any garden from winter into spring. It will thrive in full sun or part shade, but is ideally suited to partially shaded areas of the garden, where its glowing flowers illuminate the gloom. Compact and bushy in growth with large, dark green leaves. Perfect in pots, excellent for hedging and ideal as a standalone feature plant. We have lots of Illumination Camellias in stock covered in buds and starting to flower making them a perfect gift!

GET OUT THERE AND  BLOOM!

Mt Cannibal is just starting to bloom. Its my favorite short walk close to home in West Gippsland. A steep 40minute walk with exceptional views it gets your blood pumping and makes our heart sing. Very doable in winter because the paths are good and you can complete the walk between showers. This week I'm inspired to plant some of the flora I have seen on my walk - native Grevilleas, Heaths and Wattles.

ACACIA COGNATA 'COPPER TIPS'
A beautiful weeping Australian native that will add a wonderful foliage effect to your garden. A small tree growing to 5m tall with dark green pendulous foliage and lovely copper-colored tips, hence its name. Small, pale yellow tea-tree like flowers cover the ends of branches in Spring. This variety adds a pretty element to a garden with weeping foliage that lends itself well to a quick growing soft informal screen. Great as a feature tree in any type of landscape design or part of a larger nativegarden planting.   Its graceful weeping habit and lovely copper tips will add interest to any style of garden.

EPACRIS IMPRESSA 'WHITE FORM'
or Common Heath -Floral emblem of Victoria.
A small, scrambling shrub with narrow, pointed foliage and tubular flowers ranging from white to pink and red, blooming in winter with spot flowering during the year.Ideal rockery plant, useful for borders and containers. The flowers attract honeyeaters and lorikeets. Heavy pruning after flowering promotes bushy growth.

GREVILLIA 'WOOLY BEAR HERO'
It’s woolly enough to cuddle. The carpet of soft mounding grey-green foliage is massed with bunches of pink flowers from autumn to summer, and it thrives in full sun and well drained soils  A light trim over summer is all it needs to keep it fresh and vigorous.
Wooly Bear is an outstanding landscape choice for path edges, amongst rock work,  retailer walls or a dramatic large container plant. Like the two varieties above it is also bird-attracting!

Feed these three with native fertiliser in spring and autumn.

Parlour Palm in Pleated Cement Pot

Commonly known as a Parlour palm, this species is one of the smallest of all palm trees. Chamaedorea elegans is a great indoor plant, growing bushier and faster in a bright room but it also tolerates lower light conditions. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between watering. Parlour palms are also non-toxic to pets.

Paired with this pleated cement pot, the Parlour Palm's delicate and vibrant green foliage juxtaposes the strucured concrete pot. A great addition to a bedside table, desk or shelf!

Cumquat - Nagami

A medium sized, evergreen shrub with fragrant, white flowers which mature over the winter months producing a small, oval fruit that is a brilliant deep orange colour with a highly aromatic skin. The fruit holds onto the tree for a long time making it an ideal ornamental shrub perfect for containers or topiaries.  It can be eaten whole - skin and all the inside flesh is rather sour but the rind has a sweet flavour producing a refreshing taste sensation. The fruit can also be used the same way as other cumquats for jams, crystallising and making liqueurs. It requires a full sun position, with plenty of composted and well draining soil.  Dont forget to feed your cumquat with fruit and citrus food during spring.

Copper Oxychloride

Have you pruned your roses and fruit trees?
It’s time to spray them to prevent fungal disease in spring.

Copper Oxychloride is an effective broad-spectrum protectant fungicide with low risk of resistance development, due to the copper mechanisms of multiple action. Copper is actively accumulated in the fungal spores, inhibiting germination, even at very low concentrations.

Used for the control of certain fungal diseases of fruit trees, vegetables and ornamentals such as roses in the garden. This is primarily a semi-dormant spray for the control of leaf curl, freckle brown rot, black spot and a number of other fungal diseases on stone fruit  such as citrus, grapes and some ornamentals.

- Suitable for most fruit, vegetables and ornamental flowers & shrubs.
- Controls a broad range of 20 common fungal & bacterial diseases including: bacterial canker, leaf curl, sooty blotch, melanose, early & late blight.
- 200g makes up to 100 litre of fungicide spray.

Always be sure to read the full label and follow all directions.
