Olga Owl

Olga is planted with a mini Swiss cheese plant, Monstera adansonii. So Sweet! Perfect for perching on a window sill or shelf.

Watch her crest grow :)

Golden Dwarf Umbrella

Madam de Smetpbr is an attractive indoor plant with vivid glossy green/gold foliage. Create a focal point  indoors with this striking specimen as it grows to a height of 2 metres and width of 1 metre. Grow in a well lit room and watch it thrive.
Refreshing Natives

Platypuses are at play in the birdbath this week at Botanical Creations. Did you know that a group of platypuses is called a paddle? I can’t imagine ever being lucky enough to see a group in the wild.

We are open  Australia Day January 26th 10-4pm
Take some time to celebrate and reflect in the garden.
Plant some new native plants.

CORREA 'SNOWBELLE'
Provide some tucker for native birds with Correa Snowbelle. A small spreading shrub to 1.2m which has a long flowering period. White bell flowers appear from autumn to spring. Smaller honey eating birds love the flowers. Good in sun to part shade. Trim after flowering to encourage an even more dense shape particularly if planted in shade.

MYOPORUM PARVIFOLIUM 'PURPUREA’

We have lots of varieties of myoporum as they are so useful to create a lush carpet to reduce weeds.  A real long term living mulch. ‘Purpurea’ is a ground cover which creates a dense mat of fine-leaved foliage with purple toned new growth. Small white flowers are on show spring through summer. Great to deter weed growth and to cover slopes and cascade over retaining walls. It can be a lawn substitute for low traffic areas. Grows to around 3 metres wide and 30cm high. Drought tolerant but will spread more quickly with a good water in the hotter months. Best in well drained soil and sunny spot, but an adaptable plant for most conditions, including saline soils.

Luscious Limes for different uses-

 Kaffir & Tahitian Lime

Kaffir lime leaves are used for Thai cooking, and best to use the young leaves in cooking. Fruit is grown for the zest and the green part of the rind can be used in cooking. The kaffir lime prefers moist, well drained soil and love to be in full sun.

Tahitian lime bears seedless fruit from Autumn to Spring. Excellent for drinks and when sliced. The glossy, evergreen foliage looks great all year round and provides a wonderful backdrop for the fragrant, white flowers and edible green fruits.

As an ‘everbearing’ plant, this tree can provide you with fruit and flowers throughout the year. The fruits can be left on the tree so there will always be a lime ready to pick and use in your drink! They have the strongest, classic lime flavour when green but they are at their juiciest when left to ripen to yellow.

Check out your Citrus
It’s time for a feed

With the warmer weather brings fresh growth to citrus, and flowers starting to set fruit. This fertiliser is not only great for Citrus  but Tomatoes and Passionfruit also trying to ripen fruit this time of year. It’s blood & bone based organic fruit and flower food with added potash. Won't burn roots! Feed every 6 weeks over summer.
