Basil Holy (Ocimum sanctum)
Holy basil is known as tulsi.
Holy basil is a  is an important sacred plant in Hinduism. It is used in Ayurvedic medicine. The leaves, stems, and seeds are used to make medicine.Holy basil is used for anxiety, stress, diabetes, high cholesterol, and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses. The essential oil from Holy Basil contains a compound called eugenol which has antiseptic activity. It can kill germs such as bacteria, reduce inflammation and deter insects. It is also used to treat many skin conditions as well as coughs, bronchitis and diabetes. It is can be taken as a drink with lemon juice or cardamom.
In cooking, holy basil is used for its peppery taste, and is sometimes called "hot basil".
Harvest Regularly, the more you harvest the more it will produce. If kept warm and harvested often you may even get 10 months worth of Basil leaves.
