AZALEA SCARLET DRAGON

Scarlet Dragon is a classic evergreen small shrub that can be used to great effect in a garden. It produces masses of red flowers during spring which make it great as a gift and will also flower again during autumn and winter.
Scarlet Dragon will tolerate a full sun position and will do best in part shade.
H75cm x W1m

This combo will brighten up a dull shady area.
 CORNUS FLORIDA RUBRA

I remember the first time I saw a Dogwood in full flower. I was in the Royal Horticultural Society garden in Wisley England. I noticed it from a distance. It had so many flowers and you could not see the foliage.
There was nothing quite like it, I was in awe.

Pink Flowering dogwoods make a wonderful display of blooms in late spring, and rich autumn tints make this a spectacular specimen for a small garden. Flower heads have four pink petal-like bracts to 8cm across.
Prefers deep, fertile soil so add Pure Magic Compost when planting and fertilise with Azalea & Camellia Food.
Plant in a protected position. Dogwoods have shallow roots, and even with dappled shade, these root systems will dry quickly. Don’t skimp on the water through summer and mulch heavily.
Ideal for small gardens with mature dimensions 5m x 5m.

HYDRANGEA 'WHITE BALL
The first batch of Hydrangeas has ARRIVED!
A classic garden plant with a rounded, thick green leaves and large ball shaped flowers ideal for planting under trees. Use in garden beds and containers. Great also as a cut flower.
White Ball Hydrangea grow 1-2m round when mature  and love semi-shade and a good water through summer.

LAMIUM 'CANDY FROST'

This cool ground cover adds brightness to low light areas and soften edging for shady paths. Sweet pale pink flowers appear spring through to autumn. Grows well in most soils that are moist but well draining. Do not allow to dry out over extended periods of heat. No pruning required although a light trim can be given during early spring to shape. An addition of a slow release fertiliser in spring recommended.

Stromanthe sanguinea is a tall growing indoor plant with quite long dark green leaves featuring a very light green stripe up the middle and gorgeous burgundy undersides. Position in a bright room away from direct sunlight. Allow soil to dry out slightly between watering. Water more frequently and apply liquid fertiliser during the warmer months.

A perfect addition to a bedside table, desk or shelf paired with this ribbed green pot.

AWESOME ARTICHOKE
A popular and easy to grow, thistle like perennial with edible flower buds. Growing to 1 – 1.5 metres in height and width, they make a stately feature and because they are perennial, a spot needs to be chosen that allows full advantage to be taken of the appearance of their graceful arching leaves. Buds grow on the ends of long flower stalks and may be green, bronze or purple according to the variety.

They love – like most veggies – a rich, well-drained soil. If you see their outer leaves drooping, it will be because of waterlogging in winter or drying out in hot summers. Plenty of compost in the soil is important in preventing both extremes as it helps drainage in winter and retains moisture in summer. So making sure the soil is prepared properly at planting time is vital for successful growth in subsequent years.

The first buds appear in early spring and continue through to early summer. Flower buds should be harvested before they open and when the stem below the bud is still pliable. That is, they should be in the shape of a globe (that’s where they get their name from!). To pick the buds use a sharp knife to cut the stem leaving a few centimetres of stalk attached.
