Daphne ‘Perfume Princess’

Daphne Perfume Princess™ is the earliest and longest flowering daphne ever bred – from mid winter to late spring. It covers itself with an astonishing profusion of large soft pink flowers, not just at each branch tip, but also along each stem. Daphne Perfume Princess has that unmistakable, blissful daphne fragrance – but with a citrus undertone – on a bush that’s a great shape with attractive deep evergreen foliage. To top it all off, this daphne is not fussy and will grow almost anywhere sun and shade. It will reach 1.5m on maturity and picking flowers is enough to keep it in good shape.

Create Contrast
with warm and cool colours

You're in for a treat if you plant Teucrium 'Silver 'n Sapphire'. Silver foliage makes up a wistful but classy looking bush, and dark purple flowers create a show in autumn all the way through to late spring. Also used as a hedge which can tolerate frequent pruning.
Tolerates some drought and will love a spot in the full sun.

Pennisetum setaceum 'Rubrum'

This gorgeous ornamental grass looks great planted in a large clump where the flower spikes swaying in the breeze are a real eye catcher Growing to 1m with deep red to burgundy foliage with small, bristly red-purple flower spikes from July to September. For best results, plant in a sunny spot in light moderately fertile, well-drained soil.

Scaevola Cobalt Candles features an abundance of purple fan flowers from spring through to autumn on a back drop of fresh mid green foliage. A neat compact plant growing to approximately 30cm high x 50cm wide.  This hardy plant is great for hanging baskets, decorative pots and general gardening.

Contrasting foliage and flowers filled with inspiration.

Pretty Pattern Prayer Plants
Check out these varieties of Ctenanthe, Calathea, and Maranta - all in what is sometimes called the 'Prayer Plant' or 'Arrowroot' family Marantaceae'. They are closely related but differ in leaf colour, veins and height/spread. It is no surprise these are a collectors joy!

Arthritis Herb (Centella asiatica)
Arthritis Herb is normally found growing widespread in damp ground, near swamps and in gardens. It is found in all states of Australia. Note that there may be two species or subspecies involved. One has quite large leaves & may have less active constituents than its smaller leafed cousin so is less often used. It is a perennial herb creeping along the ground and rooting at leaf nodes. Its leaves are heart shaped to circular or kidney shaped with straight or regularly shallow lobed margins. They may be slightly hairy and vary from 2-3cm in length. Flowers occur in small heads of three to four with small leaf-like bracts under the flower head. Petals are pink or white and overlap.
Expert Tip. Arthritis Herb can  survive in low light situations. Needs moderate fertilising. May need containing as it is a spreading plant.

Use
This plant has been used over the centuries to treat various illnesses but its most prevalent use in modern times is involved in the treatment of Arthritis and related illness. For joint pain use two fresh leaves a day for temporary relief. The leaves should be 40mm in diameter or its equivalent in smaller leaves. It may take up to three months for symptoms to dissipate.

Create a fresh start for your fruit trees.

Prevent spring and summer fungal diseases by spraying deciduous fruit trees NOW.

Searles Copper Oxychloride is an effective broad-spectrum protectant fungicide with low risk of resistance development, due to the copper mechanisms of multiple action. Copper is actively accumulated in the fungal spores, inhibiting germination, even at very low concentrations. Choose a sunny day and apply an extensive coverage to the stems and ensure liquid runs down the stem into crevices. This is primarily a semi-dormant spray for the control of leaf curl, freckle brown rot, black spot and a number of other fungal diseases on stone fruit  such as tomatoes, citrus, grapes and some ornamentals. Controls a broad range of 20 common fungal & bacterial diseases including: bacterial canker, leaf curl, sooty blotch, melanose, early & late blight.

Expert tip. Always be sure to read the full label and follow all directions. We want it effective but not wasteful.
