Lemon Grass (Cymbopogon citratus)

A popular grass herb with a very strong lemon flavour.

An easy to use herb that enhances other herbs and can be added at any time during the cooking. Use the lower half of the blade. Remove the tough outer layers and finely slice the softer white flesh. For soups and sauces crush the end of the stalk to release the delicate lemon flavour.

This large weeping grass will grow in most soil types and prefers a full sun position. It need regular moisture prior to being established then it is fairly dry tolerant. Needs to be protected from severe cold in the cooler regions.
